Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish born singer. She was born on 25 December 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother, while Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox took classes in piano, flute and harpsichord at the Royal Academy of Music London for three years in the 70s. Lennox survived off the stipend of a student as well as working part-time to help supplement her income. Lennox felt that her skills weren't as good as those of those of her Royal Academy classmates. So she began thinking about other routes she could choose. Lennox started out as a flute-player in the band Dragons Playground. However, she left prior to New Faces, the I.T.V. talent competition. Between 1977 and 1980 she was the vocalist in The Tourists. A British pop group. That was also where she got to know Dave Stewart with whom she formed Pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox was working on her own first album Diva. It came out in 1993. Both commercially as well as critically, it was an enormous hit. Nostalgia Lennoxs 6th solo album debuted in October of 2014. The C.D. Lennox selected her favorites blues soul tracks from her the time of her childhood. Lepidoptera features four keyboard tracks. The E.P. This album is a companion piece of her "Now I let the door open... artwork which was on display at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. It's also her debut self-released album. The singer is acknowledged with the release of six studio albums on her own as well as a compilation.
